Interview: How Cam Hustled to Get Accepted Early into The Foundation

the foundationRecently I applied to a 6 month business course called The Foundation.

I believe this course will bring Kingpin Social closer to our dream of providing a world class social education through a course on Social Dynamics being taught in the official curriculum of schools around the world.

The Foundation received over 1600 applicants, who all had a 1 in 6 shot of being accepted.

Those odds aren’t great.

Determined to be accepted, I decided to hustle and implement various tactics to get noticed…

… And they worked!

I was one of the FIRST THREE people accepted into the program.

Top 3 out of 1600.

Apparently something I did was noticed, and this morning I was interviewed by Pascal Wagner about it.

How Cam Adair hustled to get accepted early into The Foundation

Questions covered:

  • How did you got started with my current company, Kingpin Social, and why?
  • How did you find out about The Foundation in the first place?
  • Tell us WHAT you did to grab the attention of The Foundation and how you came about the ideas to do it?
  • Do you have any recommendations or suggestions for people still trying to grab the attention of The Foundation founders?

Thanks to Pascal for the interview.

I’d love to hear from you in the comments section below! Did you learn anything from the interview? Is there someone you’ve been meaning to reach out to but you don’t know how?

  1. Thanks Guys!

I just applied to The Foundation today. The next thing I did was google “The Foundation acceptance” and found this video. A great resource for anybody thinking of applying. Damn Cam, you know how the hustle!

  2. @ Scott – Thanks for the comment! Good luck in the application process. Pascal and I were just chatting the other day about how much fun this interview was. Glad you found it useful. 🙂

  3. Hey Cam,
Awesome interview. I applied today and there’s a waiting list of 4000 people! I couldn’t believe it.
I’m from Australia and I’m really trying to figure out a way to reach Dean on more personal level, without sending 1000 emails a day- Meet ups are obviously out of the question!

Have you got any ideas for someone living overseas?

  4. @ Juliana – Thanks for commenting! Congrats on your application, hope it goes through! I would connect with them on Facebook, it’s typically easier that way. Also, one of the best suggestions I have is to find the team members that are less “senior”. Most people try to contact Dane, Deon or Andy, so you’re competing with many many people for their attention, whereas the other team members (there are 3 others on full-time staff) get much less attention and thus you have a better chance of connecting with them -> and they have the faith of the big 3 so it will work out well.

Best of luck, let me know how it goes. Happy to offer any insights into the program, etc.

  5. Hey Cam!
    Guess what- I GOT IN!!!!
I applied literally yesterday and I thought they were full! But I guess my email must have been good enough to squeeze me into the 2014 program!
I’m ecstatic- you have NO idea!
    Cheers from sunny Australia 🙂
